What is it that I DON’T do in my day? Welcome to the Plugging the Parent Vote post of the iGB Awards Nominees.
Like most parents, before the crack of dawn I wake to the sound of pitter-pattering little feet followed by at least 6 to 10 stuffed animals pushed into my face, all demanding to be greeted individually with hugs and conversation. Item #1 on the agenda (everyday!): Is Today Cookie Day? And if it isn’t, then WHEN is Cookie Day? (Friday) As testament to my skills as an affiliate manager, I made certain that my daughter can also track her cookies, with my hand crafted Advent Calendar.

I start my day communicating, negotiating, helping, tracking, analyzing, and enjoying my daughter and once I have safely dropped her at school, I continue throughout the day to do those exact same activities as an Affiliate Manager. However, the parallels end there. I have *yet* to carry an affiliate six blocks to the metro station because I DON’T LIKE WALKING MUMMY and for this reason alone, I have only have profound thanks and respect for all affiliates that I work with.

I should mention coffee. Let me tell you about coffee. If I had an Oscar speech, I would thank coffee. Or perhaps, you too are well-versed in the Lifesaving Qualities of Coffee. My day, which starts at 6 a.m. and on a good night, ends at 11 p.m., would not function. I wish I could say the same for Louis!

As a parent I am thrilled every time my daughter reaches a milestone, I know that either directly or indirectly I was a part of that achievement.
Likewise, as an affiliate manager, knowing that whether it be a promotion I organize, a forum post, or answering affiliates directly, my participation helps affiliates reach their goals.
And like most parents, I celebrate these achievements at the end of a long day, with a little bit of laundry & a little bit of wine…
