Resident Ladbrokes Poker Pro Skalie, who sat at the final table at WSOP 2007 and walked away with a sweet $1.2-million, was looking for something different. Now he has the chance to host his own tournament at Ladbrokes Poker.
Starting this week, Skalie has a new weekly tournament at Ladbrokes Poker called Skalie’s Sunday Deepstack. The tournament will start at 1600hrs (GMT) each Sunday with regular satellites during the week. Ladbrokes Poker will be adding fantastic offline prizes that will give players the chance to take the game into the “live” arena. Players can join Skalie on the GUKPT circuit later in the year for a chance to play against some of the great names in poker.
Skalie is a former IT consultant from Lancashire in the UK who quit his job to become a full-time poker pro when he won $91,950 at WSOP 2005. He returned to WSOP in 2007 and was the last British player standing, coming home a millionaire. When he returned in 2008, he joined the Ladbrokes Poker Team.
Last year Skalie took a moment to speak to the camera about his WSOP Ladbrokes experience. Check it out:
